Please, PLEASE support underrated people. I’ve seen so many great people go unnoticed just because they couldn’t gain enough traction. Not because their work wasn’t good enough (I would say it’s often superior to the mainstream), but maybe because they can’t market themselves, or they are niche.

It’s sad seeing talent go unnoticed, their time and effort given, just to stay hidden. Meanwhile, mediocrity goes viral just because it’s trendy or contentious. Hundreds of the same content recycled over and over, and over again, just because it contains a popular song or a joke that’s repeated until it gets boring, and disappears forever. Social media will only push your content, which will suck out the most time out of your schedule. They do not care about the quality of the content shown as long as it keeps you hooked. It’s mostly offensive content that makes you automatically check the comments and read through the quarrel that someone started.

People talk a lot about “discovering hidden gems,” but those gems don’t stay hidden because they’re rare, but they stay hidden because we scroll past them every day. We’ve all done it. Maybe we were tired, distracted, or we assumed that they already had enough support. But most of them didn’t.

Since I’m writing my blogs on bearblog, I found many great blogs that went unnoticed. I found them on the “Most Recent” tab because “Trending” is as it says. Trending… and what’s trending? It’s mostly drama >:[
